Career Development is more than just a job. It’s an exciting journey of self-discovery to identify your strengths, skills and what you are passionate about. Career Expo’s and employment workshops offer support to help students and jobseekers develop employability skills and career pathways.

Career Expo

The career expo 2024 saw a record number of 59 stallholders attending the indoor and outdoor areas at the Karratha Leisureplex. JSC worked with KDCCI to plan and run the event that saw over 1,300 stall holders, students and community members at the event throughout the day. Students from across the Pilbara were in attendance including local Karratha and Roebourne Highschool students as well as Onslow and Newman.

Workshops and Training

Jobs and Skills Centre’s offer employment and training solutions to those looking to upskill, gain employment or change their career pathway. Professional workforce development advice is also available to local employers to build local capacity and retain a skilled workplace. Quality outreach programs and workshops are delivered to students, jobseekers and general members of the community including schools, TAFE’s and work together initiatives.

A highlight of the year that was, the Jobs and Skills Centre Karratha – gained 100% successful feedback that people would recommend their service to others. The Karratha team being the only jobs and skills centre in WA to achieve this accolade.

Employment outcomes

I called in at JSC for help with my resume, and Jessica went above and beyond helping me with my resume and helped me submit an application to Karratha city. I have already been to an interview today, and waiting for the result at the end of the week. I sincerely thank Jessica for all of the help you proided, A Big thank you!
